Sinaia

Sinaia is a city in Prahova County, Muntenia, Romania. Located on Prahova Valley, it developed with this tourist region and was chosen as a royal residence by Carol I, who built here Peles Castle, one of the most visited castles in Romania. Peles Castle was built between 1873 and 1914. Built as the summer residence of the kings of Romania, the building is currently owned by the Royal Family of Romania and houses the Peles National Museum. Peles Castle is one of the most important historical buildings in Romania, having a unique character and is, through its historical and artistic value, one of the most important monuments of this kind in Europe in the second half of the nineteenth century. For those who prefer hiking, the surroundings of Sinaia offer mountain trails with varying degrees of difficulty.
